The Little House Shop opens for business by owner Viola W. Fitler in a converted residence [see picture above] on Montgomery Avenue in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. The store offers a unique selection of gifts for every occasion along with lamps and furniture.
The Little House Shop moves to Suburban Square Shopping Center, Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Suburban Square is one of America's oldest shopping centers, opening in 1928. A "Little House" is built in the back of the Suburban Square Store to represent the original "House" where the store got its start. This "House" would become the logo of "The Little House Shop".
An advertisement from 1950 states " Please come in and browse - YOU are always welcome!" and this is as true today as it was in 1950. The Little House Shop has always had a knowledgeable staff ready to help you with your gift buying needs.
The Little House Shop moves to a new location along Lancaster Avenue in Haverford, Pennsylvania. The new location at the corner of Lancaster and College Avenues continues to offer a unique array of gifts for all occasions as well as a Bridal Registry and local delivery.
The Little House Shop expands to a second gift store as well as a brand new stationery store in Strafford, Pennsylvania. The new stores are located along Lancaster Avenue in the shopping center of Spread Eagle Village. The new stationery store retails fine writing paper along with invitations and announcements.
The decision is made to combine all three stores under one roof. A new larger store is built in Eagle Village Shops and in May of 1992 [see picture above], The Little House Shop and The Little House Stationers move to their present location.
